“The whole world opened to me when I learned to read.”

“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales”- This is a quotation attributed to the great scientist Albert Einstein. While we aren’t sure about the factuality of Einstein’s ‘fairytales and more fairytales’ quote, there is no doubt about the role stories play in developing a child’s imagination and introducing them to new ideas.

Why Science Stories?

Kids are naturally curious about the world around them. That being said, it is a fact that most kids find science learning boring. Why does this happen? A major reason is the way it is introduced. Using scientific jargon and presenting concepts as facts can make science boring to kids. Stories provide an excellent context for learning science. Our brains respond differently to stories and facts. While hearing a good story, the neural activity in our brain increases fivefold. So, when presented as a story, kids can deeply engage with the concepts, remember them, and feel encouraged to explore it further. This is the rationale behind our STEM story books.

There are two major categories of STEM books available for kids- STEM Story books and Informational books. Informational books provide scientific facts on different topics. They range from simple word books to books with photographs and diagrams explaining complex topics. While informational books are a great tool to introduce children to various topics, it would be ideal to use a STEM story book to ignite their interest in a particular topic.

Some of the early science concepts kids learn are environment, ecosystem, and living world. There are so many incredible storytellers who have a knack for communicating nature stories in unique and impactful ways. The benefits of such nature study books are beyond science learning. These nature stories and characters would urge kids to care for everything surrounding them. The books children read at an young age can influence their attitudes and behaviors as adults. Hence, it is a great idea to provide your kids with nature study books that tell stories about animals, plants, weather, changing seasons, oceans, and stars.

Benefits of Bedtime Stories

Child educators and psychologists recommend making bedtime stories a routine. Beyond all the developmental benefits bedtime stories offer, it’s a great way to develop strong parent-child bonding. Being on the bed with their parents and reading out their favorite storybook is a beloved memory for many children. Most bedtime stories are great moral stories too, helping kids learn about  the values that they should nurture, cultural diversity, the importance of acceptance, and inclusion.

Our moral stories will entertain and engage your little one’s imagination and teach them the life lessons in an easy way.
